The Character
Character's Name: Emmeline Vance
Character's Gender: female
Character's Appearance: Emmeline is five-foot-four. She is, she's sometimes ashamed of admitting, generously endowedt. Her eyes are usually dark-green, but they change depending on what color she wears. She usually wears shades of green anyway in the form of long skirts, cloaks, shawls, and scarves. She's quite the fan of cold-weather garb. Her fingers and toes get cold easily, so she wears thick boots and gloves in the winter, but can't write well with gloves on so she's constantly removing them and putting them back on again in class. She has quite the collection of mittens to boot. If she ever wears something other than green, it's usually a dark color. Her hair is roughly two-and-a-half feet long, straight, and bang-less. During school hours it's tied in a messy bun or braid, and when relaxing she lets it down.
Character's History: Emmeline always knew that her maternal grandmother and a handful of cousins were wizarding, and was as pleased as pie when she got her Hogwarts letter. Her father was a Muggle carbon-engineer who was skeptical of magic even though his daughter and mother-in-law were witches. Emmeline's mother, considered a Squib because of her own witch mother, resented magic a little but was happy that Emmeline had the opportunity to go to Hogwarts. At school she made a handful of close friends, one or two in her own house, Hufflepuff. She had a special fondness for Ancient Runes, was very good in Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures. She's currently a fifth year.
Character's Personality: Emmeline is a bit restrained and prim, but not stuffy. Some people mistake this for being prudish and a bit antisocial, but it's not that at all, she's merely a tad introverted. Her handful of friends always try to improve her upon this trait. She hates speaking in public or being the center of attention, so is very meek in classes. The Professors usually have to ask her to speak up a number of times. She's quite the opposite in friendly company, speaking loudly and laughing uproariously. She's very nervous speaking to people she doesn't know, but is slowly getting better with it over time. If she gets offended she will speak up, but trips over her words when she does so.
